The Diocese of Grand Island is currently undertaking a strategic planning process to determine how to use our human, spiritual and material resources

to respond to our call to continue the evangelizing mission of Jesus Christ as

we move into our shared future.

The Catholic Church teaches that each baptized person is called to live his

or her life as a disciple of Christ showing by our actions and words that we

have committed our lives to Christ. To be a disciple of Christ is to use the

gifts and resources we have been given to continue the mission that Christ began. Each of us lives out our baptismal call to discipleship through membership and participation in a parish community. These parish communities joined together form the entire Diocese, often referred to as the "local Church."

This process focuses on a plan for the entire Diocese, the local church.
