GICC journalists earn 10 state medals

Four Grand Island Central Catholic students earned state honors April 25 at the Nebraska School Activities Association Journalism Contest at Northeast Community College in Norfolk. Winners included Jonathan Schardt, 4th yearbook feature, 4th yearbook sports feature writing, 5th newspaper feature writing; Angela Messere, 2nd yearbook feature writing, 4th newspaper layout, 8th yearbook layout; Claudia Escobar, 3rd yearbook feature writing, 5th yearbook sports feature writing and Kajetan Hubl, 6th yearbook feature writing, 8th sports action photography.
