CHI Operation White Lights

Operation White Lights:

• Movement begins Dec. 7 and continues through the end of 2020.
• Nebraska and southwest Iowa communities are encouraged to participate.
• White was chosen because it symbolizes hope and solidarity.
• White lights and bows can be placed anywhere – in homes, businesses, on cars and worn on lapels.
• Shows appreciation for not only doctors and nurses, but all who’ve been called to care during the pandemic including housekeeping, respiratory therapist, paramedics and non-clinical support staff.
• Honors the hard work and dedication of healthcare workers everywhere, not just at CHI Health.

Why:

• People have been generous with sidewalk arts, food deliveries, and continue to ask us how they can help this movement is a visible way to show support.

• A way to bring us all a little closer together during a holiday season when we are social distancing.

• Health care workers don’t get Christmases off and with an increased number of patients this year hospitals are expected to be busy.

• Vaccines and new treatments are just around the corner, were are showing hope for a brighter tomorrow.

• Thank health care workers for always being there when we need them.

CHI Health:

• 14 hospitals in Nebraska and southwestern Iowa, more than 150 clinics.

• Employs 11,400 workers in Nebraska and southwestern Iowa.

• Serves as the Transfer Center for placing all COVID-19 patients in Nebraska and southwestern Iowa.

• Recently doubled COVID-19 testing capacity at our laboratory that supports TestNebraska.

• Recently purchased equipment for storing the COVID-19 vaccine.
