Higher Ground is for students who are currently sophomores, juniors, or seniors in high school. This program is sponsored by the Diocese of Grand Island's Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, with Fr. Josh Brown as the Diocesan Spiritual Director.
At Higher Ground, 20-40 participants and 10 adult staff, gather in an informal atmosphere where they will have a lot of fun and build relationships of trust. The group is encouraged to experience the joy of playing, praying, and working together as a community of faith. The week begins on Sunday afternoon and ends the following Friday morning. Participants are required to stay the entire week with the exception of an emergency.
The 2021 registration cost for Higher Ground is $250 with an early bird rate of $225 through February 28, 2021 and a late registration rate of $300 after May 1, 2021. Higher Ground is held at Fort Robinson State Park near Crawford, NE. Transportation is the responsibility of participants, but if you need help getting to camp, our office is available to help coordinate rides.
We hope that your child will have the opportunity to experience Higher Ground Retreats™, however, we understand that extenuating circumstances do arise. If for some reason, your child will not be able to attend, we will partially refund your fee, providing you notify us before the registration deadline. If notice is not given before the registration deadline, part of the registration fee will only be refunded in certain circumstances. If you cancel within 10 days of camp or do not show up for your week, no money will be refunded. This policy is necessary due to costs related to expected participation.
Higher Ground Retreats, the Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry, and the Diocese of Grand Island reserve the right to use photos and video of all participants and staff for marketing and publicity purposes.
Higher Ground Retreats™ are supported by the diocesan annual appeal.
