Chas Canfield of Grand Island is attending KenrickGlennon Seminary in St. Louis, Mo., where he is studying Theology 1. He is the son of Charlie and Susan Canfield. He has three brothers and one sister. His favorite saints are Michael the Archangel, John the Evangelist and Augustine. He enjoys working out, playing and watching sports and movies, spending time with family and friends, exploring small towns, spike ball, golf, boating, reading, and going to old beautiful churches.
“Discernment has been pretty steady lately, I have grown quite a bit in my relationship with Jesus by allowing myself to be open to doing His will. I feel like right now in my discernment, I am right where God wants me to be at for my first couple of months down here in St. Louis. My early morning holy hours have allowed me to grow so much in staying vigilant in contemplative prayer and have helped me block out most of the noises and distractions that can lead down a path away from God. I can’t wait to become a priest for this diocese someday if God truly does will for that to happen. Please keep praying for me as I am discerning the call to priesthood.”
