The West Nebraska Pro-Life Conference was held at St. Patrick Church in North Platte on March 4, 2023. The hilight of the of the event was the presence of the Most Rev. James R. Golka, Bishop, Diocese of Colorado Springs who provided a talk on “Grounding our Pro-Life Efforts in Christ.” The Conference started with Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Golka.
The program featured presentations from speakers on the theme of “Building a Culture of Life in Post-Roe Nebraska,” including:
Linda Logsdon, Executive. Director, Women’s Resource Center of North Platte: “Challenges and Needs of Struggling Families”
Jennifer Gutierrez, Chief Executive Officer, Nebraska Pregnancy Care Alliance: “Walking with Moms in Need” and “Working with Pregnancy Help Organizations”
Kyle Poen, Midwest Regional Coordinator, Students for Life of America: “The Called Initiative” and “Standing with You”
Mary Biegler, Training Specialist, Justice for All: “A Different Kind of Conversation”
Paige Brown, Communications and Outreach Specialist, Nebraska Catholic Conference: “Called to be an Advocate”
Marion Miner, Associate Director for Pro-Life and Family, Nebraska Catholic Conference: “Progress in the Legislature”
Coffee/rolls and lunch were provided by the wonderful volunteers of St. Patrick Parish. Over 150 attended and participated in the events along with 10 vendors and their display tables.
We thank all the volunteers and staff at St. Patrick Parish in making this conference a success. A special shout-out is given to Kira Dimas, St. Patrick Stewardship Coordinator and Larry Sanger, Grand Knight, Knights of Columbus, St. Patrick Council.
The conference was hosted by the Diocese of Grand Island’s Pro-Life Office, the Nebraska Catholic Conference, and St. Patrick Catholic Church.
